Accreditation for Pharmacists
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This knowledge-based activity provides 2 hours (0.2 CEUs) of continuing education credit. Program number 204-000-08-456-H01P.

This is an online activity consisting of audio, presentation slides, post-test, and an activity evaluation tool. Participants must view the entire presentation, take the activity post-test, and complete the course evaluation to receive continuing education credit. A minimum score of 70% is required on the test for credit to be awarded, and participants may print their official statements of continuing education credit immediately. The estimated time required to complete this activity is 2 hours. This activity is provided free of charge.
Target Audience
This continuing education activity was planned to meet the needs of pharmacists, nurses, and nurse practitioners in a variety of healthcare settings and the managed care environment, including hospitals, health plans, academia, consulting, medical groups, and employers/purchasers. The program would be beneficial for those who have an interest in cardiology and pharmacy benefits management.

After participating in this educational activity, participants should be able to
- Identify and explain the key managed-care challenges associated with the management of patients with ACS.
- Discuss the study design and results of recently released clinical trials related to new recommendations in the focused update of the ACC/AHA guidelines for the management of patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
- Explain the implications of these new evidence-based therapeutic recommendations on patient management.
- Incorporate the recommendations for antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy in the focused update of the ACC/AHA guidelines for the management of patients with STEMI into benefit designs.
